Our Story
Masheda Aquaculture was founded on a simple yet ambitious belief: that Uganda’s natural resources, when combined with knowledge, innovation, and community collaboration, could build one of Africa’s most sustainable aquaculture ecosystems. Nestled in Buyala, along the mineral-rich waters of River Mayanja, our farm embraces traditional pond-based aquaculture while applying modern farming practices to produce healthy African catfish fingerlings and support sustainable fish production.
As our vision grew, so did our purpose. Today, Masheda Aquaculture is more than a fish farm. We are developing an integrated ecosystem that connects farmers, researchers, educational institutions, development partners, and markets through a shared commitment to innovation, sustainability, and inclusive growth. By producing quality fingerlings, supporting out-grower farmers, promoting research, and creating practical learning opportunities, we are helping shape a stronger future for aquaculture in Uganda and across the region.
